INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) - Colts center Jeff Saturday is helping state leaders crack down on human trafficking ahead of the Super Bowl.

Thursday morning, Saturday and Indiana Attorney General Greg Zoeller joined others in signing a pledge to stop public tolerance for the commercial sex industry.

“We can’t deny the problems that come with this. As much as we’d like to just talk about all the good that will come of the Super Bowl and the good things of our state, we have to recognize the bad,” Zoeller said.

Officials expect the Super Bowl’s large crowds could bring criminals looking to profit from human trafficking. Saturday is an honorable chairman of a nonprofit that aims to prevent the exploitation of children in the sex trade industry.

“The pledge itself is great but it’s the effect of doing it, doing the things that you’re saying you’re doing that really effect change,” Saturday said.

The Attorney General’s office plans to launch a place on its website for the general public to sign the pledge.
