INDIANAPOLIS (Press Release) - Hoosiers showed their generosity over the weekend as they helped raise $23,175 for the “Hoosiers Sending Help South” campaign, which was launched last Thursday, May 5, by the Indianapolis Colts, WISH-TV and The Salvation Army to help tornado victims in the Southeast United States. After Colts Owner and CEO Jim Irsay kicked off the drive with a $5,000 donation, individuals were able to text “GIVE” to 80888 to donate $10 or go online to make a donation of any amount.

“Colts fans and WISH-TV viewers stepped up in a big way this past weekend to help our friends in the south,” said Colts Owner and CEO Jim Irsay. “This four day campaign showed the spirit of caring that makes Hoosiers so special. We want to thank our partners at WISH-TV and The Salvation Army for joining hands and making a difference through our ‘Hoosiers Sending Help South’ initiative.”

One hundred percent of all dollars raised will be used to help the Salvation Army get food, water, shelter
and other essentials to the families impacted by the storms.

“No one has more compassion than Hoosiers and no one steps up to the need of others better than the Indianapolis Colts, whether it’s here at home or far away,” said Jeff White, president and general manager of WISH-TV and MyINDY-TV. “We’re proud once again to partner with the Indianapolis Colts and our viewers to bring much needed assistance to those in the South affected by the devastating storms.”
