Leslie Olsen joined WISH-TV in May of 1978.  She began working as an associate producer for "P.M. Magazine."  Just one year later, she was promoted to reporter and substitute anchor for Channel 8's On The Scene News. She is currently WISH-TV's Education Reporter, focusing reports and special series on education.

A native of Indianapolis, Olsen graduated from Butler University, earning her Bachelor of Science Degree in Radio-Television and a minor in Sociology. In 1995, Olsen graduated from the National Press Photographers Association News Video Workshop in Oklahoma. This is often referred to as "boot camp for journalists."

In 1988, Olsen received the Sigma Delta Chi "Excellence in Journalism Award" for her documentary, "Pieces of Eight," about Mel Fisher and The Atocha Ship. In 1989, she was awarded the Associated Press first place Feature Award and first place General Reporting Award for her story on "Weed Weaver." Leslie has also served as host for WISH-TV's "Peanut Butter Press Reports." This Emmy nominated kids show was awarded the "1990 National Association of Broadcasters Service to Children Award." In 1998, Olsen was one of eight education reporters nationally selected from 200 to attend a media fellowship at Vanderbilt University. It was called "Strengthening America's Youth." 

Leslie enjoys scuba diving and gardening in her spare time.
