Mike Corbin is Weekend Anchor-Reporter for WISH-TV News-8, the CBS-affiliate television station in Indianapolis, Indiana.
Prior to his current stint, Corbin worked as Weekend Anchor-Reporter for WGRZ-TV, the NBC affiliate in Buffalo, New York.
He spent more than eight years in Virginia as Weekend Anchor-Reporter at WTVR-TV, the CBS affiliate in Richmond and also worked as an Anchor/Reporter/Producer for the Virginia Radio News Network. He has also taught broadcast journalism at Virginia Union University in Richmond, Virginia.
Corbin began his professional television news career in upstate New York where he worked as an Anchor-Reporter for WUTR-TV in Utica, New York and as a reporter at WIXT-TV in Syracuse, New York.
A native of New York City, he returned there on special assignment for WGRZ-TV following the attack on the World Trade Center on September 11th.
Corbin was awarded a Bachelor or Arts Degree in Communications and Political Science at Hofstra University in Long Island, New York.
During his college career, his studies included various news reporting internships ranging from WNBC-TV to the Associated Press in Detroit, Michigan, The St. Petersburg Times and the MacNeil/Lehrer NewsHour in New York.
Corbin has been very active in the communities of both Richmond and Buffalo, hosting events and participating as a volunteer for various organizations. He has received the Volunteerism Award of the American Business Women's Association. He has also been honored for his work as a mentor with Richmond Public Schools. He has been active with Hope in the Cities, a national group that promotes inter-racial understanding and the Virginia Museum of Fine Arts.
It happened in the 3100 block of Salt Lake Road on the city's far west side.
