Emmy-Award winning investigative reporter Troy Kehoe works to expose government waste, uncover fraud and protect your tax dollars as part of I-Team 8.

Troy earned degrees in broadcast journalism and political science from Bradley University. He also attended American Intercontinental University in London, England, where he studied documentary film and held a reporting and editing internship at NBC News’ London Bureau.

Troy joined WISH-TV in September of 2010, working first to cover breaking news and overnight developments as a general assignment reporter for 24-Hour News 8 Daybreak. In 2011, Troy began a renewed push to expand WISH-TV's award winning investigative coverage as a member of I-Team 8.

Prior to joining I-Team 8, Troy worked as a reporter at WSBT-TV in South Bend and as a weekend anchor, reporter and producer at WREX-TV in Rockford, IL. Troy began his career in 1999 as a producer, reporter and photographer at WEEK-TV in Peoria, IL.

Over the course of his career, Troy has interviewed a wide variety of people, from President Barack Obama to a blind little league player just fighting for a chance to play the game. Troy also served as WSBT-TV's Indiana Statehouse reporter, covering Hoosier politics from nearly every angle. He traveled to Ft. Stewart in Georgia in 2008 to report on the sendoff of Indiana's largest ever contingent of National Guardsmen, and followed the Butler Bulldogs to Houston, reporting on their Final Four run in 2011.

Troy was honored to receive a 2012 Regional Emmy Award for his reports on contract negotiations with the Indianapolis Symphony Orchestra. Troy was also awarded a Regional Emmy Award in 2011 for a series of investigative reports that exposed legal loopholes allowing dangerous synthetic chemical compounds to remain on Indiana store shelves. I-Team 8's stories on the subject led to two new state laws.

Troy has also been nominated for four additional Emmy Awards during his career.

The Associated Press honored Troy in both 2012 and 2010 with 2nd Place Awards as Indiana's Best Reporter.

Troy is an active member of Investigative Reporters and Editors, and is the recipient of 10 other awards from the Associated Press and Society of Professional Journalists for both investigative and enterprise reporting.

Troy was born and raised in Wheaton, IL, just outside Chicago, and remains a big Chicago Cubs fan. He is a certified volunteer firefighter and avid musician, who has played the piano for more than 25 years, and participated in dozens of international music festivals and concerts in both North America and Europe as a vocalist.

In his free time, Troy enjoys spending time with his wife, playing golf, and attending sporting events across Central Indiana.
