INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) - It's an annual tradition — The Circle City Classic, a joint collaboration between Indiana Black Expo Inc. and the Indiana Sports Corporation.
The goal of the Classic is to honor the legacy of Rev. Charles William. It was his vision to provide opportunities for youth.
This year, the Classic gave out a record number of scholarships, totaling $196,000. This is the most the organization has handed out in the 29 year history of Classic. Cummins Inc. also provided paid internships to seven of the scholarship recipients.
Classic week begins on Sept. 27 with a kick-off party.
On Sept. 29, it's the third annual high school showcase. Then on Sept. 30, a new Miss Circle City will be crowned.
The following weekend, Oct. 6, it's the 29th annual Classic football game. You can also watch the Classic Parade on WISH-TV starting at 10 a.m.
Watch a special show — The Classic Connection 3 at 7:30 p.m. on Oct. 4 on MyINDY-TV.
