INDIANAPOLIS (Press Release) - The City of Indianapolis Office of Sustainability encourages visitors attending Super Bowl XVLI festivities to dispose of recyclable waste in any of the more than 200 pedestrian recycle bins placed throughout the downtown area. The bins are clearly labeled for pedestrians to recycle paper, plastic and glass.
Should guests find themselves with larger quantities of recyclables, the closest drop-off locations in the downtown area may be found at 320 N. New Jersey St. and 555 Fairfield Ave. These larger containers accept all colors of class, No. 1 – No. 7 plastic containers (except Styrofoam), aluminum, tin, steel beverage and food cans, newspapers and magazines. People are asked to remove all recyclables from plastic bags before depositing them into the drop-off containers.
“The City of Indianapolis is committed to providing a more sustainable, livable community for all of its residents and visitors,” said Mayor Ballard. “We hope the additional bins added over the past few weeks inspire patrons to participate in that spirit during Super Bowl XLVI.”
