INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) - Hundreds of local students raised thousands of dollars for Riley Hospital for Children Saturday.
Students at Butler University raised a total of $128,852.98 to benefit Riley Hospital for Children at their annual Dance Marathon Saturday.
The event took place on Butler's campus from 10 a.m. until 10 p.m. Saturday. The theme of the event was "powering up for kids."
Students donned Super Mario Brothers costumes and played a human Mario Kart game. In addition to numerous performances, twenty Riley families shared their stories with students.
The final hour of the event was dedicated to to former Riley patient Sarah Michele Cohen who last a battle with cancer.
Carmel High School students also participated in their Dance Marathon Saturday. The school raised $294,206.28 to benefit Riley.
