CARMEL, Ind. (WISH) - On Daybreak Weekends, we like to take time to highlight stories of heroism in our community.

Dave Vesper is a teacher at University High School in Carmel. Vesper teaches Astronomy and Physics, as well as being apart of the administrative staff. He's become very popular and recognizable for his teaching methods, which involve a tennis ball that he always has with him.

"Basic Physics. Throwing something.. Watching the effect of gravity, watching the effect of air drag, watching them arc across the room. It’s easy to throw them again in a classroom where their not going to do any kind of damage, bounce them off of a wall," Vesper said about why a simple tennis ball can demonstrate great things.
