INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) - United Way of Central Indiana expects its 2011 annual fundraising campaign to break its record.
The campaign is expected to end with $40.6 million raised for the organization that works with many agencies throughout the region. The dollar figure is the largest in the group’s history.
United Way of Central Indiana officials say the 2011 accomplishment exceeds giving in 2010 by $2.3 million.
Officials attribute the increase to the Top 100 United Way companies, where contributions grew by 5 percent, or $1.6 million.
