INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) - WISH-TV is asking viewers to help provide the children and teachers of Henryville the 8 most essential classroom supplies they need to go back to school.

The devastating tornadoes that struck Southern Indiana last Friday, destroyed Henryville, including their school buildings. The school campus that housed 1,200 students from kindergarten through 12th grade lost everything; including books, band and athletic equipment, uniforms, and all other basic supplies. Now with temporary school locations in place, your help can make sure all students and teachers have what they need when school resumes.

"Our goal is to equip all 1,200 students in the school system with the basic necessities they need to get back to class,” said Jeff White, WISH-TV president and general manager. “This will be one less thing students and their families will have to worry about as they put their community and their lives back together."

WISH-TV has teamed up with Walgreens stores, in cooperation with the West Clark Community Schools, for this school supply drive. CertaPro Painters will store the items until school officials are ready to accept and distribute the items to students.
