The Mozel Sanders Foundation needs the public’s help to feed needy Hoosiers this Thanksgiving.  Since the first dinner in 1972 the Mozel Sanders Thanksgiving dinners have fed hundreds of thousands in need.  The 38th annual campaign is expected to feed up to 40,000 people on Thanksgiving Day.

“We just have a lot of confidence in the people of Indianapolis. This is the 38th year and they always step up to the plate and do what needs to be done to see to it that the needy, you know, are taken care of,” said Roosevelt Sanders, organizer.

The Sanders dinner is one of the city's longest-lived holiday traditions. The event requires 3,000 volunteers. The food is cooked in a kitchen at Butler University and taken to 40 locations throughout Indianapolis.
