INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) - 24-Hour News 8 has learned new information on the distribution of the H1N1 flu vaccine in Central Indiana.

Counties are working hard to distribute the H1N1 vaccines as soon as they come in.

H1N1 Special Coverage: The latest news and information on the H1N1 flu virus

  • Marion County has received close to 30,000 doses.
    • County officials are planning to send the vaccines to local health providers.
    • More information will be made available in the coming days.

       
  • Hamilton County has received 5000 doses.
    • But only 100 of those are the injectible doses that are safe for pregnant women, infants and those with pre-existing conditions.
    • The county delivered the vaccines to 40 local providers.
    • Residents should check with their health care provider to see if he or she has doses available.
       
  • Shelby County has received 1400 doses; 700 are injectible doses and 700 are flu mist doses.
    • The county delivered the vaccines to 4 local providers including Major Family Medicine, Shelbyville Pediatrics, Southeast Indiana OB/GYN, and Shelby Community Clinic.
       
  • Johnson County has received 1,000 doses.
    • The vaccines have already been delivered to local pediatricians and OB/GYN’s.
       
  • Hancock County just received 1500 doses but only 600 are the injectible vaccine.
    • The county has delivered the vaccines to 3 providers including Walgreens and Medicap Pharmacy in Greenfield, as well as, Arbor Lane Family Practice in New Palestine.

       
  • Morgan County has received 3,000 doses; 1500 are injectible and 1500 are flu mist.
    • County officials are working on a distribution plan that will include 20 sites. OB/GYN clinics in Martinsville and Mooresville will receive some doses Friday morning.

       
  • Hendricks County has received 1700 doses; 1300 injectible and 400 flu mist.
    • County officials are planning to send the vaccines to local health providers.

       
  • Boone County has received doses of the injectible and flu mist H1N1 vaccine.
    • Doses are being distributed to pediatricians, obstetricians and family practice doctors.
