INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) - Marion County's flu hotline (317) 221-3366 is proving to be a popular number for residents to call.
So far, 2500 calls have come in since the hotline opened on September 21.
One common question coming into the hotline is, "Can I get the flu mist rather than the injectable?"
Health officials said the flu mist is recommended for healthy people between the ages of 2 and 49.

Another common question has to do with getting
vaccinated.
"Everyone is interested in where they can get both the seasonal and H1N1 shot. They have concerns about their young children," said hotline operator Carol Ryan.
Ever since the H1N1 vaccine arrived in Marion County two weeks ago, only doctors, nurses and EMT's were given the vaccine.
But on Thursday, the health department will hold its first clinic for the general public.
The plan is to have 30 nurses on hand for the vaccination clinic scheduled to take place at the former Steve and Berry's store in Lafayette Square Mall from 8 a.m. until Noon.
"So, Thursday our expectation is to provide between 2500 and 3000 vaccinations. It’s a start and is certainly the beginning of a process that is going to last for several months," said health department spokesman John Althardt.
It is for Marion County residents who fall within the at-risk groups. That includes pregnant women, people who live with or care for infants younger than 6 months, anyone between 6 months and 24 years old, anyone between 25 and 64 who has pre-existing medical issues that put them at risk for influenza and health care workers who interact with patients.
A health care battle is heating up in Washington and here in Indianapolis.
