A new health center opens its doors Wednesday. The Jane Pauley Community Health Center will be part of Warren Township's Renaissance School. The facility will help families, regardless of their ability to pay.
The clinic is named after former WISH-TV and network anchor Jane Pauley. Pauley is a former graduate of Warren Central High School and also an advocate for providing physical and behavioral health care to underserved populations.
Last month we watched as crews worked feverishly to get the clinic ready for the grand opening. This type of school based health center is nothing new in Warren Township.
Not too far from here at Hawthorne Elementary, students have been provided care for more than a decade.
However this facility will serve the entire east side community. "It'll be peace of mind knowing you have a place to go without having to worry about how you're gonna pay for it,” said Lisa West.
The clinic will be staffed with a doctor, nurse, and also a psychologist. Community Health Network has funded the project and has already committed $350,000.
