Tatum's story is pretty inspirational. She's a two-time cancer survivor, and she's only twelve. She was originally diagnosed with Ewing's sarcoma in July 2006 a month before her sixth birthday. She endured a year's worth of chemotherapy and thirteen rounds of chemotherapy. She remained cancer-free for eighteen months until it returned in November 2008 in her right lung. She endured another years worth of chemotherapy along with 25 radiation treatments. This September she'll be 3 years cancer-free.
After her first battle she started "Tatum's Bags of Fun" to give back to pediatric cancer patients like Tatum in Indiana. TBF distributes backpacks filled with $350 worth of age-appropriate games, toys and activities to every child diagnosed w/cancer in Indiana. Since August 1, 2008 they have distributed over 1,100 Bags of Fun. You can learn more about Tatum and Tatum's Bags of Fun at tatumsbagsoffun.org
As the marquee fundraising event for Tatum’s Bags of Fun, the White Party is an opportunity to celebrate Tatum’s Bags of Fun and the spirit of pediatric cancer patients. They ask that all attending dress in all-white to signify purity (from cancer), hope and life.
The Mission of Tatum’s Bags of Fun is to make a positive impact on the lives of every child diagnosed with a form of cancer in Indiana by providing them with a Bag of Fun.
