"Cabaret"

It is based on John Van Druten’s 1951 play I Am a Camera, which was adapted from the 1939 short novel Goodbye to Berlin by Christopher Isherwood. Set in 1931 Berlin as the Nazis are rising to power, it focuses on nightlife at the seedy Kit Kat Klub and revolves around the cabaret performer Sally Bowles and her relationship with a young writer, Cliff Bradshaw. Overseeing the action is the lecherous and flamboyant Emcee at the club.
Inspired by the 1998 Broadway revival, our production will be dedicated to the Santayana quote, “Those who cannot remember the past, are condemned to repeat it.” Keeping to our mission statement, this will not be a regular production of “CABARET.“ By design the action will be more suggestive and edgier and not suggested for children 12 years old and younger.
