Dr. Rachel Vreeman, working with HIV-infected children, joins us after returning from Kenya where she helps to improve their care and help families cope with the challenges.
Her specialty within the AMPATH (Indiana University) partnership in Kenya is figuring out how to improve care for HIV-infected children in poor places, with a particular focus on helping families with the challenge of having children receive long-term therapy for HIV. She spent about half of her year in Kenya, dividing time between Kenya and Indianapolis. She been doing this work in Kenya with HIV-infected children through the Indiana University School of Medicine since 2006.
