Kris Rogers - FirstLight HomeCare shares tips to avoid getting the flu, especially for those who are immune-compromised like seniors and new moms.

Tips Kris Will Be Sharing:

  • Wash your hands often, especially in high-risk environments like public places.
  • You should also be sure to moisturize your hands. If your hands get dry and crack, germs can live in the cracks in your skin.
  • Avoid touching your face, especially your eyes, mouth, and nose. Also be careful not to put your pens or writing utensils in your mouth.
  • Get plenty of rest
  • Drink lots of fluids throughout the day
  • Avoid others who are sick or may be getting sick
  • Turn your head and cover your mouth with your elbow when you cough or sneeze
  • Eat immune system boosting foods that contain antioxidants and includelenty of vitamins like vitamin c in your diet
  • Get exercise each day
  • routinely clean and disinfect surfaces throughout your home. Don’t forget other surfaces that you touch often such as your cell phone
