It's not too late to sign your kids up for camp! IUPUI has a lot to choose from one is probably a good fit for your child. IUPUI Camps want to promote health, wellness, and activity among kids. Get them off the couch and active this summer, no matter what the sport.

• The camp’s mission is to promote health, wellness, and activity among kids. Get them off the couch and active this summer, no matter what the sport.

• We want to fight childhood obesity, which is a serious problem that does not get enough attention. (Since 1980, the prevalence of this has tripled, and today about 1 out of 3 kids falls into the ‘overweight’ or ‘obese’ category.

• Our Summer Camp is non-competitive. We focus more on all kids participating, learning, improving and having FUN.

• Our Summer Camp is unique since it’s part of a university. We offer 2-hr ‘academic electives’ each day where the campers can do age-appropriate activities from academic departments within IUPUI (Music, Science, Spanish, German).

• Ages 5-12 for the Summer Camp. 9 one-week sessions, from June 4 – Aug 3.

• We also offer 4 sports camps (Soccer, Track, Swimming, Diving). I will mention these, although the primary focus will be the day camp.

• Camps all take place in the excellent facilities of Carroll Stadium and the IUPUI Natatorium. And each camper receives a daily swim lesson as part of their registration fee- which is an excellent value (I will mention how important swimming and water safety is for youngsters- which kind of leads into what Ed will speak about).
