Keep Indianapolis Beautiful, Inc. (KIB) announced today that its Adopt-a-Block program has reached its 500 th participant. Over 500 individuals volunteer to clean their street and build community in their neighborhood, and across Indianapolis.
Adopt-a-Block is a community engagement program started by KIB in 2002. Indy residents from all over Marion County signup to coordinate neighbors to keep their blocks clean and free of litter—participants can join the program anytime, and receive recourse from KIB.
Additionally, this program builds community and encourages neighbors to meet neighbors, and take a more active role in the beautification of the city.
