Alison Eastwood on her new show

Alison Eastwood has always loved and appreciated animals and nature. She feels they need protection and someone to stand up for them and their rights, since they don’t have a voice and are easily abused or taken advantage of. The actress-producer-director prefers to call herself an animal advocate as opposed to an “activist,” as she feels many people have a negative idea of the word activist. Her roles as host and executive producer of Animal Intervention fulfill a longstanding dream to do a show about rescuing animals and bringing attention and awareness to their plight.

Born in Los Angeles and raised in Carmel, Calif., Eastwood moved back to Los Angeles to study acting after graduating from high school. She made her film debut at age 11 opposite her father, actor-director Clint Eastwood, in the 1984 thriller “Tightrope.” She went on to appear in her father’s features “Absolute Power” and “Midnight in the Garden of Good and Evil” and sang the famed Johnny Mercer tune, “Come Rain or Come Shine,” on the “Midnight in the Garden of Good and Evil” sound track.

Eastwood is an established actor and producer in Hollywood who added film directing to her credits with the 2007 feature “Rails and Ties,” starring Kevin Bacon and Marcia Gay Harden. She is currently in preproduction on her next directorial project, “Battlecreek,” written by childhood friend Anthea Anka. She has additional reality shows in development around wildlife and marine rescue.
