The National Archery in the Schools Program in Indiana is adding the state’s largest school corporation—Indianapolis Public Schools—this year, increasing the program’s enrollment to 250 schools and more than 40,000 participating students.
Indiana NASP is designed to teach International-style target archery in physical education classes in grades 4-12. Core content covers archery history, safety, technique, equipment, mental concentration, core strengthening physical fitness and self improvement.
Since its inception in 2002, the program has brought the sport of archery to more than 10 million students in 10,000 schools across the United States and in other countries.
Research indicates students participating in NASP show improvement in self-confidence, motivation, behavior and academic performance.
