At Conner Prairie’s 1863 Civil War Journey: Raid on Indiana, you will step into the southern Indiana town of Dupont following a raid by Confederate General John Hunt Morgan and his cavalry. You and your family will experience life on the Northern home front and meet its citizens. Learn about the roles that Indiana citizens played in the Civil War and decide how you would respond if Morgan and his men came charging through your home town.

The experience includes activities for guests of every age. Explore a soldier’s camp, gather supplies for the local Soldier’s Aid Society, participate in military drills and experience theatrical presentations that use audio, visual and special effects technology. Younger guests can climb aboard the Alice Dean steamboat and splash through a water play area complete with water cannons.
