In recognition of Black History Month, the Indianapolis Public Schools Crispus Attucks Museum is proud to air throughout the month of February the blockbuster miniseries “Roots,” as they honor the legacy and lifework of one of America's most celebrated authors, the late, Alexander Murray Palmer Haley.
Roots: The Saga of an American Family is a novel and television miniseries that galvanized millions of Americans both young and old during it's initial airing on January 23, 1977. It's won 9 Emmy Awards and received thiry-six nomination in addition to a Golden Globe Award and a Peabody Award.
