Kimberly Mitchell, Deputy Director, Dixon Center for Military and Veterans Community Services Easter Seals Crossroads, with support from the Newman's Own Foundation, Easter Seals Military and Veterans Initiative and The Dixon Center has invited a cross-section of community leaders to explore how Central Indiana can mobilize to strengthen services for Veterans and their families.

Today's forum begins with Colonel Sutherland, retired United States Army and Executive Director, of Center for Military and Veterans Community Services (Dixon Center), presentation to the Rotary Club of Indianapolis. The Dixon Center and the work we are doing encourages and provides connections for the fusion of organizations focusing on local solutions to help military service members and veterans, their families and the families of the fallen by:

  • Bringing communities together to collaborate and coordinate services to support employment, education, health and other issues of importance to promote reintegration and success in civilian, family and community life.
  • Strengthening trust between our military and the nation to promote the delivery of services.
  •  Identifying challenges and creating solutions to close gaps in services and meet unmet needs.
  •  Facilitating and sustaining supports that remove barriers to success in the civilian sector.
  •  Dramatically improving the overall quality of life for everyone in the military and veterans community.
