The new, specially crafted Girlfriends Wine products are smooth, entry-level wines designed to appeal primarily to women ages 21 to 50. The idea behind the new Girlfriends Wine label is to give women a fun, approachable wine they can call their own. The five current flavors of Girlfriends Wine are affordably priced and specifically blended with female attitudes in mind.
The Girlfriends Wine varieties available at Meijer retail locations come from the award-winning Val du Charron Estate, in Wellington, South Africa.
In the past few years, American brothers Stuart and Craig Entwistle lovingly restored the historic South African farm, which dates back to 1699, and re-established its tradition of wine making. They also recruited renowned winemaker Bertus Fourie to develop Girlfriends Wine and other products from their vineyard.
The idea behind Girlfriends Wine is to give women a fun, approachable wine they can call their own. Girlfriends is a new wine label that is well-positioned for many of Meijer’s most-valued shoppers – adult women ages 21 to 60 (or older) who love spending time with their girlfriends. The Girlfriends brand’s five different varietals all speak to the fun-loving moods women may experience by day or by night.
