Colts Fan Casey’s “Rules of Homegating”
Everyone wishes they could throw a tailgate every weekend, but that’s just not possible. Colts Fan Casey will show us what it takes to throw the ultimate “Homegate Party”
1. Home Field Advantage – Always try to be the one hosting a home-gate. This allows you to be in control of the food, the beverages, and most importantly the remote.
2. Menu Is Key – You must put some thought into your menu. I always suggest having one or two crock pot dishes, one cold dish, one oven dish, and one stove top dish. You don’t want to have people waiting around because you’re the smart one who is waiting on oven space.
3. Show you’re COLTSTRONG– Try to incorporate blue/white, logos, or anything else for more Coltsness! We have some great examples of ways to show you’re COLTSTRONG!
4. Beverages – Always have plenty of beverages to go around. Also, think of a wide variety of options for your guests. Not everyone wants beer and vice versa.
5. Watching the game – Obviously when it comes to a TV, the bigger the better! Also, another beautiful thing about technology is the DVR. If you have a DVR I would suggest to record the game, that way if you need to pause it to get something out of the oven, you can pause it and get right back to the action. Nothing quite like pausing real TV, just make sure you don’t check Twitter because that could ruin the fun.
6. Create a stadium experience – What’s wrong with standing up and yelling in the middle of your living room while the Colts defense is on the field for a big third down? Absolutely nothing! Cheer, high-five, chest bump, and GO COLTS CRAZY! There’s no such thing as being too excited for a Colts game!
