Indy Architects’ Home Tour Sept. 22-23 is a chance to see inside unique home designs. The self-guided tour includes seven homes in Indianapolis that offer a wide range of design styles and trends Mark Beebe, Chairman Architects’ Home Tour has more details.

The Indianapolis Chapter of the American Institute of Architects (AIA) will host its popular Indy Architects’ Home Tour from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m., Sept. 22-23. The self-guided tour includes seven homes in Indianapolis that offer a wide range of design styles and trends. There’s the glitzy high-rise downtown condo at 429 on the Park overlooking the American Legion Mall, a contemporary house in Fountain Square with ceilings made from re-claimed wood pallets and a one-of-a-kind metal staircase created by the designer. In Lockerbie, you’ll see how a new house can blend in with a historic neighborhood.

The biennial tour draws thousands of visitors who get a chance to peek inside some of the most creative home designs by Indianapolis architects.

Two of those former visitors, Cindy Bedrick and Doug Metrish were so inspired by a not-so-big house on the Architects’ Home Tour several years ago, they decided to work with an architect to help them design a unique home that would fit their lifestyle and their budget. Their home is featured on this year’s tour.

To purchase tickets ($12 in advance and $15 day of the tour at any of the houses) and see more information about the Architects’ Home Tour, go to: www.aiahometour.org
