JR Martinez on The Phoenix Society

JR Martinez was voted one of People Magazines Most Intriguing People of 2011 and danced his way to a first place finish on 'Dancing with the Stars" The Iraqi War Veteran and burn survivor gives back every chance he gets. He's teamed with The Phoenix Society, the only national non-profit serving the burn survivor community, to raise awareness.

As recently as 15 years ago, a person who had a serious burn might not have survived. Today, almost 95% of those with burn injuries admitted to the hospital live and that's thanks to advances medical treatments.

Unfortunately, long term emotional care and support has not kept up with all of the physical advancements.
