Downtown Indy IMAX Theater is now offering Indiana beers/wines to complement evening features.
INDIANAPOLIS – [June 28, 2012] – Thanks to a recently acquired liquor license, movie goers are now able to enjoy locally crafted adult beverages as of yesterday for all features after 5 p.m. at the IMAX Theater in the Indiana State Museum . This Downtown Indy IMAX already showcases local providers of coffee, popcorn and other concessions and the new liquor license will expand those offerings for adults aged 21 and over.
“Our theater is in a unique position to partner with local brewers and vintners to provide a truly Indiana experience for our adult patrons,” says Craig Mince, theater manager of the Downtown Indy IMAX. “We believe our expanded beverage options will help us attract a broader base of movie goers who might enjoy a cold beer or glass of wine with a film.”
The timing is in sync with an energetic fan base already purchasing tickets for the release of The Dark Knight Rises, the third film of the critically acclaimed trilogy that introduces Gotham City’s newest super villains, Bane and leading lady Selina Kyle. This highly-anticipated epic conclusion hits the Downtown Indy IMAX Theater on July 20.
Sequences of The Dark Knight Rises shot in 35mm have been digitally re-mastered into the image and sound quality of The IMAX Experience ® with proprietary IMAX DMR ® (Digital Re-mastering) technology. The crystal-clear images coupled with IMAX’s customized theatre geometry and powerful digital audio create a unique environment that will make audiences feel as if they are in the movie.
“I can’t wait to settle in with a cold beer on a hot evening and enjoy this film,” added Mince. “Plus our parking at White River State Park is always free for moviegoers so come out and enjoy the Park before or after the film without having to find another place to leave the car.”
Until then and throughout the summer, the theater will continue to run two stellar films – To The Arctic 3D and Tornado Alley 3D. Both of these films have been rated G and have a run time of 40-45 minutes. For show times and ticket information,
