Miss Indiana State Fair 2012

Miss Burghardt is a 10-year 4-H alumnus, having showed swine for eight years and was a 4-H Record Achievement Recipient. She is an active member of Alpha Phi sorority, the Indiana University Student Alumni Association and a Columbian Park Zoo Earth Education volunteer.

At McCutcheon High School, Erika received the Faculty Scholarship, was a member of the Academic Boosters for four years, as well as the National Society of High School Scholars. She also received the Indiana Senate Certificate of Achievement all four years, was named Outstanding Undergraduate Art Student and was a National Youth Leadership Forum delegate.

As the 54th Indiana State Fair Queen, Miss Burghardt will visit approximately 35 county fairs, festivals and queen pageants in June and July promoting the 2012 Indiana State Fair before serving as Official Hostess of the annual event, August 3-19.
