Neither Here Nor There

Stacey M. Holloway, Herron sculpture instructor and program technician, will exhibit her most recent body of sculptural work, which fondly pays homage to Midwestern Outsider Art and roadside attractions, beginning December 2 at the Arts Council of Indianapolis's Gallery 924. The show, titled Neither Here Nor There, opens with a 6:00 p.m. reception and runs through January 6.

A 2010 Efroymson Contemporary Arts Fellowship fueled Holloway's investigations in the spring and summer of 2010, and this fall. She visited intriguing oddities and the people associated with them, such as Dr. Evermor's Forevertron Art Park between Madison and Baraboo, WI. "I visited so many incredible places on these trips," Holloway said. "But I really enjoyed meeting the outsider artists themselves. On my
first trip, "Tud" Kohn's yard full of hand-made model airplanes in Elberfeld, Indiana, was my favorite stop. He had so much to show us and he was so very proud of all of his accomplishments and fame. He
was almost more proud of his studio than he was of planes, with all his hand-made tools and fabricated equipment."
