Park and Pedal ato the Race

Pedal & Park will again serve cyclists who pedal to the 2012 Indy 500 race . Billed as “the greatest spectacle in racing,” this world-renowned event draws top-ranked teams and drivers, and it also features what may be “the greatest way in and out of the race.”

The Pedal & Park corral, staffed by volunteers from the Speedway Trails Association, will be open one block south of the Indianapolis Motor Speedway at 1111 Polco Street.

Area law enforcement officers close West 10th Street from White River Parkway to Lynhurst Avenue to allow emergency vehicle access, and bicycles will be allowed to use this route to get to the Pedal & Park corral. Polco Street intersects with West 10th, so ride 10th Street to Polco, then turn north to the Pedal & Park corral, just one block south of the Speedway.

Pedal & Park corral schedule:

• Thursday, Friday & Saturday, May 24, 25 & 26: Racks will be available but unstaffed. Please lock your bikes!
• Race Day, Sunday, May 27: Corral will be open and staffed from 6 a.m. to one hour after the race ends
