Pride Never Goes out of Style is the subtitle of the newly released Indianapolis Fire Department 1859-2009, 150 thanniversary book. Years in the making, the historical/pictorial book captures major fires, events, fire stations, apparatus and other developments with a written history, timeline and hundreds of unique images.

Compiled by two firefighters, Jeff Flick and Lonnie Key, on behalf of the Indianapolis Fire Department, the sole purpose of the book is to supply the most accurate portrayal of the Indianapolis Fire Department’s 150 years of history.

The hard cover book is 10” x 12” and contains 208 pages with a retail price of $44.95. Currently the book has sold nearly 400 copies and is available through the Firefighters Union (748 Massachusetts Ave.), various booksellers and through the publisher at www.mtpublishing.com or 1-888-263-4702. A portion of the proceeds goes to the Fallen Firefighters Bereavement Fund through the Indianapolis Professional Firefighters Union Local 416.
