Amy Cook, Development Innovator, People for Urban Progress and Randy Domeck, Owner, Indianapolis Fabrications talk with Indy Style host Andi Hauser about salvaging 9000 seats!
People for Urban Progress (PUP) collaborated with Indianapolis Fabrications, RecycleForce and Ecolaborative to salvage 9000 Bush Stadium seats as Develop Indy and The City of Indianapolis prepared for the development of 16 Tech. Bush Stadium was the former home to The Indianapolis Indians. There are three ways you can secure these seats:
1) Purchase seats “as-is” from People for Urban Progress on Thursday, February 21 and Friday, February 22 from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. and Saturday, February 23 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Indianapolis Fabrications (1125 Brookside Ave, Suite G50). Please plan to make payment and pick up seats during these times. Seats will be sold as single ($45) and double ($80) and will not include a base and have not been refurbished what-so-ever. Proceeds will benefit PUP and support other community projects. Additional Information can be found at peopleup.org
2) Public and private purchase of refurbished seats: Seats can be purchased from single seats to long groupings of 8 or more. Each seat is completely disassembled, sand-blasted, powder-coated and reassembled with new hardware and includes a base. Seats can be bolted to a concrete pad or footings. Seats are available in ORANGE and RED. Orders take 3-4 weeks to fulfill. Pricing: Set of 2 $800-$975, Set of 4 $1350-$1700. Additional information can be found at peopleup.org.
3) Some of the Bush Stadium seats will go up throughout the city, in partnership with IndyGo as PUPstops. Only 47 out of 4,000 IndyGo bus stops have any seating amenity. People for Urban Progress aims to double that.
