Eric Grayson, Film Historian has details about a new Silent Film Series at the Indianapolis Museum of Art, which will be Mar 22, 29, April 5, 12, and 19th.
The 1930s/1940s murder mystery series continues at the Garfield Park Arts Center’s Vintage Movie Nights on March 23 at 7 p.m. with the screening of House of Danger (1934), with commentary by film historian Eric Grayson.
The film stars Onslow Stevens and Janet Chandler. A man pretends to be the injured friend of a young woman to save her life, investigate a murder, and capture the killers. This movie is a brisk, fast-moving mystery, directed by Charles Hutchison, once the action king of the movie serials.
Grayson is a noted historian, collector, preservationist, and lecturer. He will provide background information on the film, its director, and its stars prior to the screening and host a Q&A afterwards.
The Vintage Movie Night murder mystery series will later feature Bowery at Midnight (1942) with Bela Lugosi on April 20 and House of Mystery (1934) on May 18. Both films begin at 8 p.m.
All Vintage Movie Night films are family-friendly. Admission is $4. Concessions are $1. Tickets may be purchased at the door. Free parking.
