Sleep Habits for Kids

Follow the ABCs: be ASSERTIVE, BELIEVE in your child, COMMIT to it.

  • Best to wait until your child is at least three years old before making the crib to bed transition.
  • When new bed arrives, remove crib from child's room. Do not give child more than one choice of where to sleep.
  • Let your child pick out their own bedding & nightlight.
  • Make bedtime earlier. Expect the process of falling asleep to take longer.
  • Put a digital clock in your child’s room & establish sleep rules & wake-up times.
  • Try not to let kids into YOUR bed.
  • Put them in their bed and WALK AWAY. If they get up, REPEAT.

Routine. Routine. Routine. Stick to it.
Consistency is KEY.
