Join us for Star Wars: Where Science Meets Imagination in the Indiana State Museum at White River State Park!
Star Wars: Where Science Meets Imagination, coming to Indiana State Museum May, 2013 ... Traveling exhibit to make one of its final two appearances.
Imagine a world with humanoid automatons translating languages, landspeeders whizzing down the highway and X-wing starfighters protecting the skies. Could these technologies, limited only to the fantasy worlds of Star Wars® actually become a reality?
The Indiana State Museum will explore these futuristic technologies as it welcomes Star Wars®: Where Science Meets Imagination, opening May 25, 2013 and running through September 2, 2013.
The exhibit explores the Star Wars® films, the real science behind them, and the research that may someday lead to real-life versions of the technologies seen in the films. The exhibit also features props and costumes from all six Star Wars® films.
Star Wars®: Where Science Meets Imagination, presented by Bose® Corporation, is the largest traveling exhibition in the history of the Indiana State Museum and includes a full-sized replica of the cockpit of the Millennium Falcon from Episode IV, providing a “jump to lightspeed” experience for small groups of visitors at a time.
Tickets first went on sale August 1, 2012 including gift certificates for holiday purchases.
The Indiana State Museum is located in White River State Park in the heart of downtown Indianapolis. It is Indiana’s museum for science and culture, offering a place where you can celebrate, investigate, remember, learn, and take pride in Indiana’s story in the context of the broader world. Even the building is a showcase of the best Indiana has to offer in architecture, materials, and sculpture.
