Child Advocates Announces its First Annual Superhero Run Every Child Needs a Hero, but Abused Children Need Superheroes.

Each year over 5,000 children are represented by Child Advocates because they have been victims of abuse and/or neglect. There organization trains and supports volunteers who make a difference in the lives of these children. Child Advocates’ volunteers work with staff professionals on cases of children who have been victims of abuse and have been placed in protective custody. Our volunteers contact caseworkers, interview parents, ensure necessary medical care, look out for educational interests, and make recommendations in court regarding the permanent placement of the child. When making decisions regarding the child’s welfare, the judge relies heavily on the recommendations of Child Advocates.
