WHAT: United Way of Central Indiana’s (UWCI) 21st annual Day of Caring

WHO: More than 1,800 volunteers will tackle 89 projects at 10 schools, 46 nonprofit agencies and three child care centers throughout Central Indiana. (some locations have multiple projects

WHERE:Agencies, schools and child care facilities throughout Boone, Hamilton, Hancock, Hendricks, Marion and Morgan counties

WHY:Day of Caring:

•  provides local nonprofits, schools and child care centers with budget-saving ways to get work done in tough economic times;
• gives people an opportunity to make a difference and have fun while doing so;
• shows United Way volunteers helping create the kind of community we want to live and work in;
• gives companies team-building opportunities that benefit us all.
