The Indiana Historical Society’s 2012 Indiana Town Hall Series will explore some of the historic and contemporary issues that arise from the advancements in healthcare. Each of the three installments—taking place Oct. 4, Nov. 1 and Dec. 6—will begin at 7 p.m. The Eugene and Marilyn Glick Indiana History Center, home of the IHS, is located at 450 W. Ohio St. in downtown Indianapolis.
Expanding on the themes explored in You Are There 1955: Ending Polio and the upcoming You Are There 1939: Healing Bodies, Changing Minds, this year’s Indiana Town Hall series encourages visitors to deepen their experience by joining leading experts in thought-provoking conversations that use the past to address relevant healthcare issues of today.
From this history of vaccines and their use today to the continued lack of healthcare access in minority communities and the training of physicians over time, the Town Hall Series endeavors to involve the Indianapolis community to join the IHS and attendees in conversation with community leaders on current healthcare issues.
The Indiana Town Hall Series is free and open to the public. For more information, please call (317) 232-1882 or visit www.indianahistory.org .
