A Beginner’s Guide to Zombie Apocalypse Survival!

Zombie enthusiasts among teens ages 13 - 17 are invited to learn how they can prepare for the zombie apocalypse during the series, “A Beginner’s Guide to Zombie Apocalypse Survival” throughout the fall at various Indianapolis Public Library locations.

The series will include an art workshop, movie showing, popular author appearance and other programs that promote this popular cultural theme. Programs in the “A Beginner’s Guide to Zombie Apocalypse Survival” series include:

teens through the steps of identifying and drawing the unique features of the walking dead. Participants will

“Zombie Stage Makeup”

In order to escape the walking dead, teens may have to blend into the crowd. Teaching artists from the Indiana

Repertory Theatre show how to camouflage oneself as a zombie by applying stage makeup. In this 90-minute

session, participants use stage makeup products to create a basic zombie face that includes death-like highlights

and shadowing, the effects of decaying flesh, and stage blood. All supplies will be provided, however it is

advised that participants bring a black eye pencil if you can. Registration is required.

IMPORTANT NOTE: The stage makeup used in this workshop is manufactured by Ben Nye and Mehron, two

of the leading stage makeup companies. Participants will also use latex products. If participants have any skin

allergies or sensitivities, use caution. Participants may consider applying makeup to a friend. Makeup

ingredients may be found at http:// www.mehron.com
