About the Bakers Street Irregulars:
- founded 1946
- current average meeting attendance = 25 - 30
- club attendance at advance screening of Sherlock Holmes in 2009 = almost 40
- has received varying print and broadcast coverage over the decades
- meets nine time each year, including one summer afternoon of films free and open to the public; after a publicity 'blitz' one year, 75 members and non-members attended our films day
- heavily involved in the recent From Gillette to Brett Symposium III at Indiana University dedicated to Holmes on screen, stage, and radio
- has as a local member the head of the Baker Street Irregulars, the largest and most prestigious Holmes club in the U. S., which has a larger population of 'Sherlockians' than does Great Britain
- have as two of our local members the owners of the leading Sherlock Holmes book publishing firm in the world
