The time is coming to choose your chocolate! A host of new vendors and sponsors are becoming involved with the popular Chocolate Fest, whose tasty treats will be available next month.
The Chocolate Fest 2012 fundraiser will take place Saturday, October 20 from 12 p.m. – 4 p.m. at the Harrison Center for the Arts, located at 1505 North Delaware Street in Indianapolis. Benefiting Arts for Learning, the Indiana affiliate of Young  Audiences, Chocolate Fest will include various chefs, chocolatiers, bakers and restaurateurs.

Vendors include: Abbott's Also Candies; Best Chocolate in Town; Cakes by Chris Indy; Chef Joseph's at the Connoisseur Room; Chocolate for the Spirit; Endangered Species Chocolate; Hoaglin Fine Catering; Hubbard & Cravens Coffee Co.; Indy Cakes; Just Pop In!; Louise’s Sweets; Oakley's Bistro; Oberweis; The Chef's Academy; Schakolad Chocolate Factory; Sun King Brewing Co.; Xchocol' Art; and several food truck vendors.

Each vendor will offer one to three ounce “tastings” to entice attendees to buy their chocolate desserts, along with related gift items and gift cards. With more of a festival atmosphere, the event will also offer arts activities for children and performances for all to enjoy provided by Arts for Learning roster artists.

“With a new venue in the Harrison Center for the Arts and having the event on a weekend, we hope Chocolate Fest 2012 appeals to a greater audience,” said Mallory Doyel, director of communications for Arts for Learning. “We have a fabulous group of vendors offering an amazing selection of chocolate goodies. People will have the opportunity to enjoy the treats while supporting arts in education programming throughout the state of Indiana.”

Chocolate Fest will consist of a general admission ticket structure, including “tasting tickets” to be used for the dessert samples. Adult tickets will be $15; children (ages 5-15) $5; and there will be a special family package available for $35. Children ages 4 and under enter free. Tickets may be purchased at the door or online here: http://2012chocolatefest-eac2.eventbrite.com/ .
