Candy maker Carrie Abbott ( Frittle Candy) and her daughters share their tips on how to make great Family Friendly Caramel Apples that the entire family can enjoy.

Family Friendly Caramel Apples from Carrie, Maddie and Eva Abbott

  • Mix one package of soft caramels
  • Add 2 Tablespoons of milk
  • Microwave for about 2 minutes (check every :30 to make sure it is not burning)
  • Push an apple stick into a cold apple.  Using cold apples will ensure that the caramel will start to harden right way and stick to the apple.
  • Dip your apples in the hot caramel mix and immediately roll them in chopped peanuts
