Ni Mink stress the importance of knowing where your food comes from especially when it comes to the fish you buy. There is away for you to buy your Salmon from Alaska and have is shipped fresh to you every month this summer through Sitka Salmon Shares.  You'll be surprised by what you don't know about the salmon you buy in the stores.

This is how it works. YOU enroll in their Community Supported Fishery, their members-based organization that allows you to purchase a "Share" of the harvest of an independent small boat family fishermen who fish the pristine waters of Southeast Alaska. There are have two types of shares--a three-month Sitka Salmon Share and a five-month Sitka Seafood Share. A Sitka Salmon Share entitles you to a share of July's king salmon harvest, August's sockeye salmon harvest, and September's coho salmon harvest, each delivered to your door  in monthly installments.

A Sitka Seafood Share gives you those, plus a share of October's halibut harvest and November's black cod harvest. You can buy in at monthly increments of 5, 10, and 15 pounds. The more you buy, the more you save. You also get access to many of the perks of being a CSF member--special sales, newsletters, recipes, BBQs, salmon bakes, cooking classes, fishermen events, and, most special,  exclusive pop-up dinners with many of the Midwest's most celebrated chefs.
