Scotty's Brewhouse

What started as a 'dive' bar in 1996 in Muncie, IN has grown into multiple restaurant locations stretching from Bloomington to West Lafayette and between . Scotty's Brewhouse is owned by a cool, down to earth guy and one hamburger alone is enough to get you there. The Shewman Special is a unique burger that grabs your taste and your attention.

Scott Wise owner of Scotty's Brewhouse stopped by to talk about humble beginnings, Super Bowl and the origins of the Shewman Special!

This burger is the brainchild of former Scotty’s Brewhouse, Muncie, bartender, Leslie Shewman.  It was submitted in 2008 for our annual burger contest, won by popular vote and was featured on our menu that year.  Voted one of Indy’s Top 25 Burgers by Indianapolis Monthly magazine, it remains one of the most popular burgers on our menu today. 

Guests can find the gourmet version of The Shewman Special, made with local Moody Meats ground beef and topped with their applewood smoked bacon, at Scotty’s Lakehouse at Geist and at our newest location, Scotty’s Burger Joint in Columbus, Indiana.  All burgers are served with a choice of side.
