“light green” approach

We’d all like to do our part to help the environment, but not everyone can go vegan or afford solar panels for their home. The good news is that there are many small steps the average American can take to make the world a better place, a “light green” approach that fits into any lifestyle.

  • Grow a Garden: One of the easiest things we can do at home is plant a garden. Growing your own vegetables and herbs is healthy, easy, affordable – and a fun educational activity your kids can get involved in! Jen will show you how.
  • Eat Less Meat: The best thing you can do for the environment AND your health, when it comes to food choices, is eat less meat. Go meatless just once a week for huge benefits, without compromising your taste for the occasional sustainably-raised hamburger.
  • Host a Swap Party: Swapping is the new shopping, particularly in these economic times. Plus, it’s fun!
  • Start Composting: Over 30% of landfill waste could be composted and returned to the earth. There are some new products that make composting an option for everyone.
