Top Gun goes 3D

The seminal 80s classic maked its 3D debut on Blu-ray 3D on February 19th.

Acclaimed actor Tom Skerritt talks about his experience making the film that became  a worldwide sensation!

As Cmdr. Mike "Viper" Metcalf, Tom Skerritt tried to keep Tom Cruise's Maverick from heading into the danger zone. The Emmy-winning performer is one of the most versatile and acclaimed American actors of both the big and small screens. With a career that spans more than five decades, Tom Skerritt has appeared in a wide range of films including Robert Altman’s classic comedy M*A*S*H, Ridley Scott’s Alien, The Turning Point with Anne Bancroft and Shirley MacLaine, David Cronenberg’s The Dead Zone, Robert Redford’s A River Runs Through It, Steel Magnolias, Contact, The Other Sister, Tears of the Sun, and many, many more. He has also appeared in acclaimed television series including “Picket Fences”, “Cheers”, “Brothers and Sisters”, “The Grid”, “Leverage” and more.



The story of an elite group of pilots competing to be the best in their class and earn the title of “Top Gun” captured the imagination of a generation and earned a worldwide box office of over $350 million upon its release in 1986. TOP GUN was re-mastered from high resolution original negative scans and painstakingly converted to 3D under the supervision of the film’s director. From the spectacular aerial dogfights to the intense close-ups in the cockpits, each frame gives the audience the feeling of being part of the story. The Blu-ray 3D/Blu-ray 2D combo pack will include the film in high definition and in both eye-popping 3D and 2D, along with loads of behind-the-scenes special features.
